Though this organization is active in international mission trips, it also provides local service projects world. More than a game takes a very special game to me (baseball) and spreads it to a wide variety of people who either have never experienced the game or been blessed with the equipment to play the game. More Than A Game recently sent twenty-six servants to the interior of Colombia which was the biggest group taken overseas by the organization. This organization has grown from a four-member team building a baseball field in northern Panama to a twenty-six-member team who not only fixed up a field but also gave baseball equipment, uniforms, bibles, and instruction to different countries. More Than A Game has sent volunteers to Panama twice, Africa, and Colombia twice. The organization is also finalizing a partnership with the Pittsburg Pirates and plan to make a trip with the Pirates over thanksgiving to renovate two fields in the Dominican Republic. Upcoming events for More Than A Game also include the video release of the recent trip to Colombia.in the United States. The mission for this organization is simple, “we are committed in serving the community and providing opportunities for others that will shape their lives in a positive way.” It can bring together people through a game and create a positive experience for underprivileged individuals. Whether it is giving instruction about hitting or simply being able to enjoy a game of baseball, More Than A Game strives to bring service to others and make lives better all around the
The organization also maintains several amateur baseball teams, camps, clinics, and local service projects. For example, The Phenix City Crawdads and the Walnut Creek Crawdads are both USSSA members, which includes eight teams ages eight to college. Each team provides local service for the community, volunteer for service projects, free instruction, baseball equipment, cleaning up the community, and volunteering for local charities. All Crawdad players and coaches make a commitment to serve others in the community through local youth and non-profit organizations in hopes to bring future servants to carry on these duties and help others through the game of baseball. I believe this organization can make an impact on the entire world to bring joy, not only through baseball, but also through sharing the gospel with others in hopes that people will accept Jesus Christ our lord and savior.
